Black Wealth Media, in association with Black on Black Films, offers black emerging artists the opportunity to make Afrocentric short films under the guidance of film and media professionals.
Black Ink - Encre Noire is a mentorship program that supports the creation of short films through a combination of group master classes, one on one mentoring sessions and hands-on experience.
This program gives emerging artists an opportunity to receive the support and help they need to learn new skills or hone others. They will gain work experience, while learning to write and produce their own films.
From writing a script, building a budget to understanding post-production workflows, our training workshops aim to provide emerging artists with skills that will allow them to become filmmakers and then continue to create independently.
Throughout the part-time 6-month program, they will be guided by industry professionals and will have access to the necessary support to bring their project to fruition.
Submissions for the 2021 edition will be opening later this year.
*This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada.
